Aussies got hooked on three new ways of social networking this year -- Facebook, MySpace and YouTube. Facebook and MySpace -- owned by News Corporation, which also owns the Herald Sun -- battled it out. About two million Australians are signed up to Facebook and three million to MySpace. More than 42 per cent of Australian children now have their own Facebook and MySpace accounts, according to the Australian Communications and Media Authority.
