A year ago it would have been unthinkable to admit to spending December 31 surfing the web. Why not join ''Is It Just Me, Or Is New Year's Eve Rubbish?" Or how about ''I Don't Party On New Year's Eve Because It Sucks" - or the group ''Yes, I Live In London And Have Nothing Planned For New Year's Eve"? A selection of applications have been created especially for tonight, allowing the site's users to send virtual kisses and drinks to friends when the clock strikes midnight.
