Almost half the 2800 Facebook users surveyed by Linkme.com.au admitted to logging onto the social networking website when they should be working. This is costing their bosses more than $2700 each in lost productivity every year as they chat to mates and play games online, Linkme.com.au development manager Paul Tyrrell said. On the average Australian salary of $54,132, just two hours a week on Facebook would cost companies a massive $2708 per employee per year, Mr Tyrrell said.
