mediaPro 2011 a great event for marketers


Integrated marketing conference and exhibition mediaPro touched down at Olympia, London last week culminating in what turned out to be a very attendee centric event.  It was brand led back-to-back seminars across its four theatres, allowing attendees to listen to how their peers are navigating the digital world.

mediaPro 2011 logoOrganisers CloserStill assembled over 50 brands to guest speak including Unilever, Boots, Universal Pictures, More Than, Google, Vodafone, Siemens, Jimmy Choo, Thomas Pink, News International, EMI Music.  Unsurprisingly (for the most part), the theatres were full.  Supported by talks from agency-side, there were plenty of case studies for attendees to learn from both sides of the coin, a perfect combination.  It was an impressive schedule that was lined up that covered a range of subject matters (from direct marketing, marketing technology, publishing, social media), but unfortunately also didn?t allow for attendees to have a lunch break.

There were up to 150 suppliers touting their wares, but most weren?t busy enough between the numerous sessions scheduled that left little time for attendees to maximise their time to really strike up conversations and network.  Similarly, this was the same experience for the social media consultancy lounge, where attendees didn?t seem to take advantage of the 12 social media specialists there, possibly due to the time that they could muster to even quickly gander through the exhibition stands.

With mediaPro 2012 already planned with bigger venue at Olympia London it could be an opportunity to further differentiate the integrated marketing conference by smoothing out these issues.  Successfully blending the range of exhibitors, extensive seminar programmes and the consultancy lounges would hopefully providing attendees a chance to breathe between each session, and deliver a return for the exhibitors that fund the conference.
