PRESS RELEASE
A stylish “Made in Italy” social network is born
Italian taste famous around the world for fashion
and design has recently added a touch of glamour to the Web 2.0
London, 3rd March 2008 –
Ciaobelli.com, the best looking social network to date, has recently been added to
the world of online communities, making the existing ones look bland and old
fashioned. The new entry sports the “Made in Italy” trademark, a traditional
symbol of innovative design and combines the best features available online in
a stylish and comfortable environment.
Pictures speak
louder than words and Ciaobelli.com offers a private space for members to share memories
through images while connecting with friends and like-minded people. The
community is based around the sharing of personal experiences like events,
parties, holidays and family reunions via photo albums.
Users build up a
network of trusted friends and upload their images to the site. Once an album
or photograph has been uploaded, friends can comment on the pictures, add
interactive maps, communicate in audio/video format, swap opinions through
internal messaging or create a “blog” on a topic.
After
just two months from the release, the number of Ciaobelli.com addicted members is growing rapidly. The success that
characterises the site is a result of its simple but catchy design, which
differentiates it from other social networks. “We wanted a cool online space to keep our photos and share information
but couldn’t find anything except “cold” photo-sharing and social networking
sites, all looking the same, that’s why we decided to create Ciaobelli.com,” explains Andrea D’Ottavio,
one of the minds behind the project and founding partner of Webing, the leading Italian web design & development firm
behind the development.
The
business model is based on advertising, with classic banners and innovative
formats available to buy directly on the site or through planning agencies.
The
current beta version, which can be accessed through a personal invitation or
with a secret keyword, was developed in English, but the site is currently been
translated in numerous languages, including Russian and Chinese, to meet the
requirements of the global community that has quickly been charmed by its
Italian style.
