HATSWORTH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Campus Technology 2008, the 15th annual higher
education technology conference and expo, will open at the Westin Boston
Waterfront Hotel in Boston, MA on July 28. This year’s
conference, which runs through July 31, focuses on “Web
2.0,” and the cutting-edge communication and
collaboration technologies that facilitate creativity,
information sharing and community. Under the theme “Welcome
to Next-Gen.Edu,” all workshops, general
sessions and special MIT campus tours will focus on the applications,
software and services that are revolutionizing education throughout the
campus.
Breakout sessions presented by experts who have pioneered the
educational use of next-gen technologies will provide in-depth
explorations of the latest tools for instruction and administration and
show how they are working now on campuses. Five separate tracks allow
attendees to personalize their conference experience by choosing the
sessions most relevant to their work and campus initiatives.
“Our workshop leaders will guide attendees
through applications and use cases or scenarios so they can truly
experience the technologies in use,” says Mary
Grush, Conference Director. “And the highly
interactive style of our breakout sessions provides attendees with ample
input from their colleagues—both from
presenters and other attendees alike.”
Other features of this year’s conference
include a keynote address by outspoken and visionary campus technology
leader Adrian Sannier of Arizona State University, special guided tours
of educational technology projects at MIT, and an exhibit hall
showcasing the latest software, hardware and services from top
technology vendors.
The Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel is less than three miles from Logan
International Airport and within walking distance or a short “T”
ride of many of Boston’s popular attractions.
