PRSA-LA Partners With Online Press Room Provider iPressroom to Add Online Video to Web Site and Provide a “Best Practice” for Members
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Los Angeles Chapter of the Public
Relations Society of America, PRSA-LA,
announced today its partnership with iPressroom
Corp. (www.ipressroom.com),
an online press room
and PR software
provider, to enhance benefits of the 500-plus organization and further
its objective of engaging in new and social media.
“Past chapter programs have focused on the
future of social media, which is putting the ‘public’
back in public relations,” said Rita Tateel,
president of PRSA-LA. “This partnership with
iPressroom will allow PRSA-LA to not only speak to but show
our members how to best utilize these new media opportunities.”
The partnership between PRSA-LA and iPressroom will eventually offer
members a variety of new benefits such as providing an online media
center with a newsroom for links to news coverage, a press room with
social media press releases, a high-resolution image archive, RSS feeds,
on-demand online audio and online video multimedia capabilities, as well
as podcasting and blogging functionality.
iPressroom has already streamed videos through PRSA-LA’s
Web site “without us needing to add servers
or software,” said Tateel. “By
giving us the infrastructure and production services to offer our
members streaming video coverage of our professional development events
online, iPressroom has enabled PRSA-LA to leverage this ever growing
online communications channel to reach our members like never before.”
Current iPressroom highlight videos on the PRSA-LA Web site include:
“The future of the internet is flicks, not
clicks,” said Eric Schwartzman, founder of
iPressroom, which also provides SEO
services for PR. “Nearly 9.4 billion
video clips were viewed online by 138 million Americans in November
2007. As public relations practitioners race to add online video to
their organizational communications tool kit, we are witnessing huge
growth in this area.”
