Social Polling Network, Polladium.com, Launches as First Online
Polling Site with Twitter-Like Interface
Unique Site Allows Members to Create, Share, Vote and Express Their
Opinions on Polls
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Polladium.com,
the social polling network™, today launched as an online repository for
polls on hot topics on the Web. The first social polling Web site to
offer a Twitter-like
interface, Polladium.com completely redefines the social polling
landscape by encouraging self expression and offering a new way of
interpreting current events through polling.
Members can easily create a free account and a customizable VoxBox
profile page. Vox, the Latin word meaning voice, speaks to the site’s
purpose of promoting self expression based on polling habits. As members
vote on polls they can add comments in less than 160 characters. Each
member's opinions are displayed on their VoxBox page along with the
original polling question. On each polling page VoxBox opinions are
displayed, developing debate forums on the site. Other unique features
of the site include the following:
-
Customizable VoxBox Themes—Every member can customize his or her
VoxBox profile by selecting a theme such as political affiliation
represented by the Democratic donkey and the Republican elephant
-
Listening Capabilities—If a member finds another member's opinions
interesting, he or she can "listen" to that member. Once listening,
the user can view all future opinions that member posts when voting
-
In the News—A special section of the site links polls to recent,
relevant articles on the Web uploaded by members and the creators of
polladium.com
To make the site easy to navigate and search, polls are organized by
locale such as the United States and categories like business,
entertainment, health, international, politics, science/technology and
sports. Polls with the highest votes are listed first within each locale
and category. If a poll becomes popular, it will show up on the
polladium.com homepage daily under “hot on the Web.”
In addition to VoxBox pages, Polladium.com offers businesses and
organizations the ability to create their own Polladium page for their
Web site. Organizations can add a Polladium icon on their Web site,
which links back to their Polladium page. By leveraging this unique
feature, businesses can easily poll visitors on their sites on any topic
they choose. For example, a restaurant looking to offer outdoor seating
may want to poll customers to see if they are more inclined to dine at
the restaurant if outdoor seating is available. As another example, a
blogger may poll his visitors’ thoughts on recent gadget reviews.
Similarly to how members on Polladium.com can “listen” to other members,
customers and Web site visitors can “listen” to a business or
organization via their respective Polladium page.
"Polladium offers a chance for us to easily tap into the views and
opinions of our readers, this fun and exciting site is sure to be the
next big thing. The cool factor is off the charts," commented Jef Price,
editor and co-founder of NecessaryCool.com.
