AuthenTec Brings Touch-powered User Features to New Smart Phone
NTT docomo PRIME series F-09A includes AuthenTec AES1711 sensor for
user navigation, personalization and convenient security via the swipe
of a finger
MELBOURNE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AuthenTec (NASDAQ:AUTH), the world's leading provider of smart
fingerprint sensors and solutions for today’s mobile phones, announced
that one of NTT docomo’s newest smart phones incorporates many of the
Power of Touch® features offered via a built-in AuthenTec
sensor. Made by Fujitsu, the NTT docomo PRIME series F-09A is the 18th
Fujitsu phone to leverage the convenient security of an AuthenTec sensor
and the third Fujitsu phone to use AuthenTec’s TrueNav™ user navigation
capability.
NTT docomo’s PRIME series F-09A smart phone integrates AuthenTec’s
AES1711 sensor for multiple functions including touch-powered user
navigation, personalization, convenience and security that includes
file, folder and program lock with the swipe of a finger. The AES1711
sensor uses AuthenTec’s new TouchStone™ packaging technology which
provides a smooth, durable sensor finish for touch-pad like navigation
and improved aesthetics. The phone also incorporates AuthenTec’s
TrueNav™ technology, leveraging the AES1711’s high definition pixel
array and subsurface imaging to track small movements of a finger across
the sensor and translate that motion into on-screen actions.
The F-09A is based on a Symbian operating system and features a 3.4-inch
widescreen VGA touchscreen display, 8.1 megapixel camera with Autofocus,
built-in GPS using Mobile Google Maps with Street View, e-Wallet mobile
payment capability, 3G and GSM compatibility, i-appli™ touch Near Field
Communications, and a 1Seg mobile TV tuner.
More than 10 million mobile phones have included an AuthenTec sensor to
provide one-touch access to content and services, secure mobile
commerce, touchpad-like navigation, and personal data privacy and
convenient security. All AuthenTec sensors are based on the Company’s
patented TruePrint® technology to deliver extremely accurate
and reliable fingerprint imaging by reading below the surface of the
skin to the live layer, where a person’s true fingerprint resides. This
unique subsurface approach enables AuthenTec sensors to overcome common
skin surface conditions to read virtually every fingerprint, every time.
TruePrint also allows AuthenTec to provide the smallest sensors on the
market, yet provide all the security, privacy and convenience afforded
in its larger form factor devices.
