SYSTRAN Sponsors Machine Translation Summit XII
World’s leading scientists, developers and users will gather in
Ottawa to explore state of the art applications in today’s machine
translation market
PARIS & SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SYSTRAN,
the leading provider of language translation technologies, today
announced it is a primary sponsor for the Twelfth
Machine Translation Summit, organized by the International
Association for Machine Translation and the Association
for Machine Translation in the Americas. Microsoft
and Multilingual
Computing are also sponsoring this year’s conference, which will
take place August 26-30 at the Château Laurier in Ottawa, Canada.
MT Summit XII will bring together scientists, developers and machine
translation users from around the world. The conference will examine the
most advanced trends and practical applications in today’s machine
translation market. Emphasizing real-world deployments for both
government and commercial users, MT Summit XII will include a Technology
Showcase of systems and applications incorporating machine translation
that is open to the public. Early
registration for MT Summit XII is now open and will run through July
15, 2009, after which regular registration will be available through
August 16, 2009.
Symantec,
a global leader in providing security, storage and systems management
solutions, will deliver one of the keynote addresses at the 2009 MT
Summit. The presentation will focus on the results of a hybrid
translation pilot project that was conducted in five language pairs
(English to French, German, Italian, Japanese and Simplified Chinese).
The technical and linguistic issues associated with hybrid translation
will be addressed and metrics will be offered to demonstrate that
machine translation quality can be improved by reusing existing
translations. SYSTRAN technology has been used in production
environments by Symantec for the last three years.
SYSTRAN provides enterprise translation products that meet customer
needs. Earlier this year, SYSTRAN released SYSTRAN
Enterprise Server 7, the first hybrid machine translation (MT)
server available for enterprise use. Based on a combination of
self-learning and linguistic technologies, SYSTRAN’s hybrid MT can save
organizations a considerable amount of time and money, as well as making
it possible for them to communicate more effectively with customers,
partners and employees around the world.
