SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwired) - IDG's DEMO Conference, world-renowned for launching the most innovative technology products, concluded day one of the DEMO Fall 2014 conference today with the most provocative, new innovations in the areas of touch, enterprise, wearables and hardware technology, and lots of smart data solutions. Today, demonstrators showcased the most innovative technologies in four categories. Panels of VC and entrepreneur judges took to the stage to offer advice and share their own lessons learned.

Day one speakers included a keynote Founder School session with Peter Thiel, entrepreneur and venture capitalist, which centered on how to build the future. Other key sessions included a deep dive into "What Comes after Mobile" with Benedict Evans, a partner at Andreessen Horowitz; and a DEMO alumni update with Marcus Weller, PhD and CEO of Skully Helmets. DEMO labs allowed another glimpse into the future with a "How to Create Your Own Creatures by Printing DNA" session led by Austen Heinz, the CEO of Cambrian Genomics.

New breakout sessions, titled "The DEMO Challenge, Helping Business' Solve Real Problems," tackled three challenges: the manufacturing challenge with Stephan Biller, chief manufacturing scientist at General Electric, and Marc Strohlein, adjunct research adviser at IDC; the marketing challenge with Stephen Ibach, vice president of Digital Partnershops and M&A at Inmar and Joe Megibow, chief digital officer and senior vice president, American Eagle Outfitters; and the technology challenge with Stephen Elliot, vice president of research at IDC.

"The innovative entrepreneurs showcased at this year's DEMO Fall conference are what continue to make DEMO a must-see event," said Erick Schonfeld, executive producer of DEMO, "and they collectively point to where technology is taking us."
