The Tech Expo returns for its second year in London, learn from founder Claire Taylor why 2016 will exceed expectations

Hyperlink to Tech Expo websiteSocial Media Portal (SMP): What is your name and what do you do there for Tech Expo?

Claire Taylor (CT): I'm Claire Taylor and the founder and event director for Tech Expo.  I launched the event in 2015 and oversea the development and implementation of all aspects of the event.

SMP: Briefly, tell us about The Tech Expo what is it and what does the event strive to do?

CT: The Tech Expo is designed to engage our audience in the contextual use of emerging tech within consumer, enterprise and finance sectors.   The event has a focus on the end user with the objective to provide our audience insight on how emerging tools and technologies can be adopted to add real value to a business, not just as a gimmick.  We also have a very cool interactive expo where our visitors can experience the tech first hand.

SMP: Where/when is the event, who are your target audience and why?

CT: 24-25th October at etc Venues, 155 Bishopsgate London, United Kingdom (UK).

SMP: How long has the vent been going and what makes it different to other technology conferences?

CT: This is a second year event. Businesses need to become more contextual in the way these interact with consumers and operate within an enterprise.  The Tech Expo is the only event focusing specifically on context.

SMP: How is the event related to the FinTech Expo & Conference?

CT: The FinTech Expo will be hosted as part of this years Tech Expo, we reached this decision because of the diversity of our audience and adding the financial aspect provides our audience all the relevant content and tools to develop their business all under one roof! For emerging tech to thrive the end users need to understand the real value of adopting the tools within their business and how to do so successfully

Anyone who organises events of this size would appreciate that there are always underlying challenges. Our main focus is ensuring our content provides value to our audience and we take care in selecting our speakers. You will notice that our speaker line up is 80% brand / end user representatives which is an important factor and one that makes us different from other events who usually focus on the technology aspect.

SMP: What are the high moments of what you have been doing so far?

CT: We are delighted to have some fantastic keynote speakers join us, these include Liam Maxwell, National Technology Adviser for the Government as well as the Economic Secretary.

I am also especially excited to have Aardman Animations join us, I am a big fan being a fellow Bristolian and I am looking forward to hearing more about how they are adopting immersive tech.

SMP: Is there anything else we should know, or is there anything that you?d like to share?

CT:
TTE Awards. Don't forget to submit your entries before 3rd September!  Categories reflect the areas of the event and in the past we have had some fantastic entries and winners.

I?d also like to share an exclusive 25% discount code for SMP audience. There?s a discount code 30SMP!
