Bloggers able to create their own Facebook application

Rachel Hawkes (Social Media Portal) - 28 December 2007

Blogfuse have announced the launch of a new service that allows Bloggers to quickly and easily create their own Facebook application in order to integrate their blog's RSS feeds with the popular social networking site.

The Blogfuse Facebook App Creator is compatible with any blog that has a RSS feed, including MySpace, Wordpress, Drupal, Blogger, LiveJournal and Xanga.

Blogfuse are heavily pushing the viral-factor and have implemented the means for users to share individual posts with friends, and Blog owners can pre-set the joining process to prompt application users to invite their friends.

The application looks and feels like a Facebook-owned application (see right), which may encourage bigger adoption to similar services avaialable.

Aimed at the professional blogger, the cost of using the Blogfuse Facebook App Creator ranges from $5 to $30 per month, which includes the application hosting costs (directly hosted with Blogfuse).

With the recent introduction of Facebook Ads (which allows brands to create a Facebook profile and build a community of "fans"), the Blogfuse Facebook App Creator provides yet another avenue for those brands looking to connect with their audience online.

Facebook have a reported global user-base of 58 million.
