Facebook partner with Amazon to aid application developers

Popular social utility Facebook has announced a partnership with Amazon that provides application developers with a cost effective and scalable platform through Amazon Web Services.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) allow developers to build their Facebook applications on the AWS platform - which is entirely flexible so that an application can grow freely in popularity without having reliability affected.  On the same note, it can be scaled down seamlessly should an application become unpopular.

Pricing for AWS is ‘pay-as-you-go’ and developers face no upfront costs to get started.

To assist application developers get started, Amazon and Facebook have put together detailed resource guides, including a calculator so developers can easily calculate their monthly AWS costs.

Popular Facebook applications already running Facebook applications on Amazon Web Services include Boozemail, iLike and SocialMoth Secrets.
