Arguably the world’s most popular video sharing site YouTube has announced the launch of YouTube Live, its first live streaming  to be held on San Francisco, California on 22 November 2008.

YouTube describe YouTube Live as an event that will, “celebrate the site's vast user communities; everyone from bedroom vloggers, budding creatives and underground athletes, to world-famous musicians, comedians, artists and more.  Part concert, part variety show and part party, YouTube Live will bring together some of the amazing videos and unforgettable individuals that have contributed towards making the site what it is today.”

For those lucky enough to attend YouTube Live, they can expect to see internet-born stars like Soulja Boy, Esmee Denters, and "Canon Rock" virtuoso Funtwo. There will also be a global b-boy showcase featuring dancers from the movie Planet B-boy, Discovery Channel's and MythBusters.  YouTube have also appointed a "Vlog Squad," a group of long-time YouTube video bloggers who will be backstage to offer exclusive behind-the-scenes access from different areas of the venue.

YouTube users interested in attending the live event, as opposed to watching the live streaming version, can enter a draw for two tickets.  Artists attending YouTube Live include Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas and Akon and sponsoring the event are Lionsgate, Guitar Hero, Virgin America and Flip Video.
