Music festival GlobalGathering adds social elements to site ahead of summer event

GlobalGathering, global music festival that has been running since 2001, has today unveiled its new social media enhanced website.

The new site was built by content management system company Modera in partnership with GlobalGathering?s advertising agency Media Junction Digital, and completed within five weeks.  Festival goers visiting the new site will benefit from a forum, video library and viral games amongst social media technology.

James Algate at GlobalGathering?s promotions company Angel Music Group says that Modera?s software enables ?full control of our digital brand? allowing them to meet the needs of festival attendees.  He continues, ?GlobalGathering?s editorial team will be able to easily update the audience with artist and DJ line-ups, festival information, locations, photographs and video which can updated more frequently and much more intuitively.?

Registered users of the site will now have the ability to add images to the GlobalGathering image library to share their best photos of their festival experience and communicate with like-minded festival goers through phpBB forum integration.

The new addition of the video library pulls video from music focused user generated content site MUZU TV, which is fully integrated into the website.  Users can add videos to a playlist, share with friends and embed on their own social network and / or blog.   An overlay on the video allows direct access for users to purchase festival tickets.

The GlobalGathering UK festival is being held from Friday, 24 July 2009 to Saturday, 25 July 2009 in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
