Applied Discovery and Legal OnRamp Launch Exclusive Discovery 3.0 Community

Collaboration Invites Networking Among Corporations and Law Firms on Challenges of Discovery

Applied Discovery logoBELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Applied Discovery®, a leader in comprehensive electronic discovery products and services for complex litigation matters, today announced that it has partnered with Legal OnRamp to provide innovative leadership for a new online user group focused on challenges and solutions in Discovery.

The Legal OnRamp platform enables corporations to find answers to legal questions with a breadth of current information from a network of highly qualified experts – their corporate peers and outside law firms. The “Discovery 3.0” community within the site will include forum discussions, blogs on Discovery law and technology by prominent experts, and links to news and resources.

Virginia P. Henschel, Esq., Vice President of E-Discovery Affairs at Applied Discovery will guide the Discovery 3.0 Group on Legal OnRamp effort. Henschel brings a unique perspective to the role, having both law firm and Fortune 500 corporate legal experience. “Corporate Legal teams have historically managed in a rather insular fashion,” says Henschel. “Information or advice not available internally would be hired out at significant expense. The Legal OnRamp community provides a new collaborative model of information sharing between corporations and outside law firms that brings significant value to all members in the community.”

Paul Lippe, a founder of Legal OnRamp, explained how the Legal OnRamp platform is distinctive from other sites available to the legal community, “By leveraging Web 2.0 to create a highly interactive collaboration system for in-house counsel, members are able to tap into an unparalleled depth of corporate experience to enhance legal decision making.” Lippe continued, “With a focus on rich and timely content and real time interaction, Legal OnRamp will allow legal professionals to build new relationships with peers in law firms and corporations; contribute expertise to a community of professionals with similarly focused interests; and find answers and referrals that enrich the quality of their work. The participation of Applied Discovery will add a critical voice by expanding the dialogue in this complex and growing field.”

Jon Resnick, Esq., Vice President, Sales and Field Operations at Applied Discovery stated, “In today’s business environment, General Counsel remain under tremendous pressure to manage costs while improving service. We believe that Legal OnRamp will truly change the way legal professionals work by providing them with opportunities to meet, learn from, and collaborate with the most innovative and successful individuals and organizations in the industry. Interest in Legal OnRamp is strong, and early indications are that we will have a very active community, and their issues will drive the online conversation. We are truly excited to be entering into this exclusive partnership.”
