DEMO Spring 2012 Conference Concludes With Revolutionary Social and Consumer Technology Innovations

DEMO Hosts Insightful Conversations With Google and AARP Leadership, StartUp Weekend Winners Take Stage

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire) - Day Two of the DEMO Spring 2012 Conference, world-renowned for launching the most innovative companies in enterprise, mobile, cloud computing, consumer, social media and disruptive technologies, featured the most provocative new innovations in the areas of social and media and consumer technology, as well as insightful expert conversations about the impact and convergence of these exciting technologies and applications. Over the past two days, 73 demonstrators and 11 Alpha Pitch companies representing 12 countries -- from Israel to Norway to Istanbul -- have taken the stage to showcase today and tomorrow's most innovative technologies.

DEMO executive producer Matt Marshall hosted a panel discussion with Jody Holtzman, senior vice president, Thought Leadership, AARP and Steve Jurvetson, managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson on the importance today's market, and therefore entrepreneurs, are placing on design, especially with an aging population in mind. Marshall also conducted a one-on-one conversation with David Lawee, the vice president of corporate development at Google, on trends in the industry and how Google is continuing to help lead the market in innovations.

"The caliber of entrepreneurs and products showcased on the DEMO stage is consistently excellent," said Marshall. "Whether they are addressing the pain points of the world's largest enterprises or making the everyday consumer's life a little more enjoyable, the products launched during DEMO Spring 2012 have the potential to become household names."

Other speaker highlights from Day Two included top executives and expert "sages" from SugarCRM, Greylock Partners, Color Labs, SoftTech VC, Intel Capital and American Express, who discussed innovations in the social and media market; and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Cisco Systems, Menlo Ventures and Nextdoor.com who offered insights into the constantly changing consumer technology market.

DEMO gives both emerging and established companies from around the world the opportunity to showcase technologies in a unique forum. As part of this, winners of the Startup Weekend competition were given the opportunity to present their business ideas from the DEMO stage. These companies included Stinky DaVinci, winner of the Gaming category, PredictGaze, winner of the Mobile category and Eyes on Demand, winner of the Robotics category.

This year's DEMO Spring product debuts in the social and media and consumer space include everything from a technology that protects and scans personal and business Facebook pages in real time to the world's first weight-sensing electric skateboard.

Today's introductions included technologies designed for:
