LONDON ---? Record-breaking numbers of international delegates packed CloserStill Media?s two-day industry leading technology event stack at London?s ExCel, 12-13 April. The continued success of industry heavyweights Cloud Expo Europe and Data Centre World, plus the introduction of Cloud Security Expo and Smart IoT London, has cemented CloserStill Media?s Technology Event Stack as a must attend for global-suppliers, investors, industry leaders and industry professionals from across technology and enterprise ecosystems.

The four events together hosted an impressive, world-class line-up of 650 speakers and over 500 leading technology brands.

Highlights from the second day of the event included an address from Google Cloud Platform Director, Barak Regev, in the NaviSite Cloud Keynote theatre. Regev emphasised the indefinite and interminable scale required to support today?s digital initiatives. He suggested that we are set to experience more disruption over the next five years than ever before seen in business. Reacting to this trend, Regev spoke of Google parent company Alphabet?s dedication to modernising data infrastructure ? funnelling $9.9 billion in CAPEX investment into its data centre portfolio in 2015 alone. Regev continued that companies must move to accelerate security, and embrace multi-cloud strategies in the face of today?s IT challenges.

The second day also included packed sessions in the OneLogin Cloud Security Keynote Theatre. Mikko Hyppönen, Chief Research Officer at F-Secure, in his presentation ?Behind enemy lines? took an overview of his 25 years working closely with hackers and malware. He suggested that while many things have changed in the field, there are many historical problems that remain ? particularly looking at the way attackers still rely on social engineering tactics to trick targets in delivering ransomware trojans.

The Data Centres of the Future conference stream also attracted great enthusiasm from delegates. Visiting Professor of Data Centre Engineering of the University of Leeds and Critical Facilities Consulting, Ian Bitterlin, discussed whether data centre infrastructure would be able keep up with the enormous people-driven demand for digital services. To address this exponential growth, Bitterlin suggested a key consideration around utilisation and hardware refresh, noting further the potential of superconducting as the future of hyperscale IT.

Day two saw more IoT pioneers share their thoughts on how to unlock IoT?s potential, with Innovate UK?s lead IoT Technologist Jonny Voon and Design for Social Change?s Designer- Founder Priya Prakash discussing how IoT can play a valuable role in policy and governance. KTN?s Knowledge Transfer Manager, Digital, Richard Foggie introduced IoTUK and its Principal Consultant Idris Jahn, who explained the vital role IoTUK is playing in accelerating IoT adoption in Britain and supporting IoT entrepreneurs.

?The 2016 events have been a huge success ? 92% of the exhibition space from this year has already been rebooked for 2017,? said Thomas Standley, Managing Director, Technology at CloserStill Media.

Cloud Expo Europe and Data Centre World, along with Cloud Security Expo and Smart IoT London will return to the ExCeL Centre next year, 15-16 March 2017.

Testimonials:

Speakers

Evelyn de Souza, Data Privacy and Security Leader, Cisco Systems
?Cloud is a global phenomenon and it spans all boundaries. I have been very impressed to see the advances in cloud presented here at the show, particularly in security with the addition of Cloud Security Expo. It?s been encouraging to see the range and quality of new, exciting products and solutions showcased here ? it?s really whet my appetite!?

Edward Rhyne, Program Manager, HSARPA, Cyber Security Division, Department of Homeland Security, Science & Technology Directorate
?Having an entire conference tailored around cloud security is great, as security becomes more and more of a priority for businesses. Traditionally security was an afterthought, so it?s fantastic to see people talking about it at this scale. People are realising that security is a key consideration ? when building products, it?s one of the most important things.?

Exhibitors

Excool, Joanne Gines, Marketing
?We?ve been doing Data Centre World for many years now, and every year it gets bigger and busier. This year we have a cooling unit in the green data centre ? this new feature is going fantastically. The footfall and lead generation at the live centre is great, so it?s been worthwhile having our unit on display. It has certainly been a huge draw for us. We?ve also noticed an increase in potential international customers, from our key markets across Europe. This is the event to come to in the data centre market ? I cannot fault the show. We?re already signed up for 2017.?

Zadara Storage, Oded Kellner, VP Product Management
Everyone?s at this show. If you?re not here, you don?t exist. It?s a great opportunity to see what?s going on in the market, see the trends and what the competition is doing. It?s been very good for us ? we?ve been very busy and had good conversations with quality delegates. We?re very pleased.

Penta Security Systems, Soojin Choi, Marketing Director,
?We?re from South Korea and this is our first UK event. It?s been the perfect opportunity to expose our brand. We?ve had lots of people on the stand who want to learn about us. It has a very successful show for us.?

Oracle, Carole Turner, Senior Marketing Manager UK
?We don?t usually do expos in the UK, but if we do, we want good branding and good conversations. The organisers have pulled out all the stops to deliver on both fronts. We?ve had lots of high quality one-to-one meetings and sponsored a theatre. It?s a refreshing show and I?m really happy with how everything has gone.?

Delegates

Solomon Ajekwe, Senior Network Engineer, Epsilon Telecommunications
?The show has been great ? yesterday I managed to see lots of great products and solutions that are really redefining the industry. Today I have chosen to focus my attention on the lecture programme. The quality of the presentations has been awesome. It?s been eye-opening to listen to industry experts sharing their experiences, giving advice, and sharing their concerns too.
I am also very interested in the addition of the security and Internet of Things event, projecting what the future of IT holds. I will be attending again in 2017 and have recommended to all my colleagues.?

Margaret Krzeminska, Scientific Computing Project Manager, University of Cambridge
?Working at the University of Cambridge alongside Cancer Research UK I need to look for new solutions and plan for the future because researchers and scientists need to be sure that the data we are storing is safe. This event is really great as all of the suppliers are in one place. I collaborate with many of the vendors in the virtual world, but here it?s fantastic to have every opportunity to meet face to face and concrete a more long-lasting commercial relationship.?

Violeta Boneva, CSP Buyer, IBM UK
?I?m a data centre buyer and it?s great to be able to visit the stands and have the exhibitors explain the products. It?s a cool place to be. It?s not just a dry presentation, it?s very interactive.?

Giancarlo Capone, Software Engineer, Carict, University of Naples
?Security and IoT are the hot topics at the moment. I?ve traveled from Italy to be here to research, listen to the presentations. It?s been so useful.?
