Predicting the future of healthcare through social media with CREATION

Daniel Ghinn, Founder and CEO of CREATION, joins the 9th Social Media in the Pharmaceutical Industry as conference chairperson. The event takes place on the 18th and 19th of January 2017 in London.

Mr Ghinn leads the team at CREATION, a company he founded 18 years ago to help customers make the most of emerging internet technologies, as well as innovation in the pharmaceutical sector and social media over the years.

With views of exploring the use of social media to predict the future of healthcare, Daniel’s opening address will evaluate how healthcare professionals (HCPs) use digital media to interact with peers and discuss therapy areas, and how these conversations influence the market. He will also address the use of social media and big data in crisis management.

In a recent interview with SMi Group, Daniel commented on the importance of social media listening and understanding HCPs conversations. “It’s clear from HCPs' online conversations that doctors, pharmacists, nurses and others have very specific information needs and content preferences. For pharma to provide meaningful interaction, companies and brands need to learn from HCPs' online conversations and make sure that their own online activity is relevant to their customers' needs."

When asked about his opinion about the future of social media within the healthcare industry, he said, “We have a long way to go, but as the industry gets better at meaningful engagement, I believe trust will grow, enabling better collaborations across different organisations with shared vision for better healthcare.”
