Social Media Portal (SMP) to attend 12th annual corporate social responsibility conference entitled the Responsible Business Summit

London, UK ---- Social news and information site the Social Media Portal (SMP) is to attend the Responsible Business Summit (RBS), to be held in a two weeks time.

The corporate social responsibility (CSR) conference and exhibition organised by Ethical Corporation (part of FC Business Intelligence) is to be held from 07-08 May 2013 at the Novotel London West Hotel, London.

RBS is a two-day event that will welcome over 500 international attendees, more than 65 speakers to debate the challenges professionals will face throughout 2013 and to discuss what areas they will need to build upon as we prepare for 2014.

Delegates will benefit from a comprehensive agenda with breakout sessions, presentations, panel sessions and roundtables from experienced guest speakers.  Speakers include John Sauven, executive director of Greenpeace UK, Jeremy Darroch, chief executive officer of SKY and Daniel Franklin, executive editor of the Economist.

Attendees at RBS will also hear from global brands and organisations from various sectors including ASDA, BASF, Dow, Dupont, Rio Tinto, HP, Hyundai M&S, Microsoft, the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Patagonia and Unilever - who will be sharing their thoughts on CSR and related disciplines.  These corporate brands will also be joined by experts from academia and non-profits from organisations such as Cranfield School of Management, Ethical Trading Initiative, European Commission, EABIS, Oxfam and the Institute of Human Rights and Business.

Tim Gibbon, cofounder and editor at SMP and media partner of RBS explains, ?Having good corporate social responsibility practices has become an important factor in where people decide to buy from and who they work for, whether its a B2B or B2C brand.  Social media has an irrefutable role to play in raising awareness of CSR initiatives, encouraging action and monitoring, responding to and averting crisis.  This two-day event is packed full of great sessions for businesses on sustainability and CSR, but for us we are honing in on two sessions in particular; ?Tools and techniques for maintaining reputation in times of turmoil? and a roundtable session, ?The Age of Crowdsourced Communication.??

The Social Media Portal (SMP) is a media partner of the Responsible Business Summit (RBS), the first time to news and information site has partnered with the CSR event.
