Social Media Portal interview on the B2B Marketing Conference with Saba Hudson

Social Media Portal profiled interview with Saba Hudson from B2B Marketing on the Annual B2B Marketing Conference

The B2B Marketing Conference 2012 logoSocial Media Portal (SMP): What do you do there at B2B Marketing (and for B2B Marketing Conference 2012)?

Saba Hudson (SH): I?m the Events Manager, I organise all the events for B2B Marketing!

SMP: Briefly, tell us about B2B Marketing Conference 2012, is it scheduled?

SH: B2B Marketing Conference is an annual event. This year it is taking place on the 1st November 2012. The format of the day is geared around providing delegates with the best opportunity for learning and engaging with their peers. In addition to three keynote sessions, there will be panel debates and workshops where they get to choose from best practice sessions covering a range of marketing hot topics.

SMP: Who are your target audience and why (and who should sign up to listen)?

SH: The event is for mid to senior B2B marketers including: marketing directors, heads of marketing, account directors, marketing managers and those involved with the development of marketing strategy.

SMP: What is B2B Marketing Conference 2012 do that?s different?

SH
: It?s giving B2B marketers more choice and flexibility to shape their own agenda around key issues, and access to an unrivalled wealth of best practice and blue sky thinking from pioneering thought leaders in the industry.

SMP: How is the day structured ? what?s on offer?

SH: The day kicks off with three keynote sessions followed by a panel debate discussing what B2B marketing will look like in 2017.

After lunch, delegates will go to their chosen breakout sessions. There will be three running at any given time and these will focus on a specific channel. This is a brilliant opportunity for hands on learning and practical guidance.

Hot topic briefings will follow the breakout sessions. These are 15 minute digests on some of the key channels or techniques that are likely be critical to the future of B2B marketing ? mobile, social and video.

The day ends with another panel debate tying in the findings and thoughts from the day.

SMP: What will be the highlights of B2B Marketing annual conference?

SH: There?s so much going on during the day that it really depends on what each delegate is hoping to get out it. For me personally, I am most excited to see the hot topic briefings. This is the first time we have done them this year and I think they will work really well.

SMP: What are the most important things that attendees can take away from the B2B Marketing Conference?

SH: That whatever challenges you are facing, there are solutions out there, and someone else is probably going through the same pain. There are very few hard and fast answers ? willingness to experiment, learn and try again are more critical than ever in the digital age.

SMP: What?s the benefits of having the conference at the end of the year?

SH: It?s a great way to round up 2012. It?s been a very interesting year for B2B Marketing and it?s good to learn what worked and what didn?t. It?s also a great opportunity to think about how your marketing strategy will look like in 2013.

SMP: What are the low moments of what you have been doing so far (and for this conference)?

Photograph of Saba Hundson, event manager at B2B MarketingSH: There haven?t really been any low moments? I?m sure there will be a lot of stress on the day through. There always is!!

SMP: What are the high moments of what you have been doing so far (and for this conference)?

SH: Seeing the website go live and the bookings starting to come in was great. It?s a well loved event and great to see it grow year after year.

SMP: Is there an early bird discount (if so, when does it end)?

SH: It ends on Friday, 28 September, but there are likely to be some further good deals ongoing.

SMP: Is there anything else you?d like to share with us?

SH: There are networking drinks afterwards!

SMP: Best way to contact you?

SH: The best way to contact me is email saba.hudson @ b2bmarketing.net. Twitter @MarketingB2B and the hash tag for the conference is #b2bconf and conference URL http://www.b2bmarketingconference.net

Now some questions for fun

SMP: What did you have for breakfast and lunch?

SH: Breakfast was a bowl of porridge. Haven?t had lunch yet, but I have a cheese and ham pickle sandwich waiting for me in the fridge!

SMP: What?s the last good thing that you did for someone?

SH: I helped a friend do the seating plan for a special birthday dinner. She had managed to do everything else, but had forgotten this job and was very stressed on the morning of the event!!

SMP: If you weren?t running or working on the B2B Marketing Conference 2012 (or doing what you do) what would you be doing?

SH: I would be working in events somewhere else I hope! I studied film so it would be great to tie in my two loves together and maybe work on film festivals or something.

SMP: When and where did you go on your last holiday?

SH: My last holiday was to Kefalonia in Greece in August.

SMP: What?s the first thing you do when you get into the office of a morning?

SH: Check my emails and have a cup of tea.

SMP: If you had a superpower what would it be and why?

SH: The power to control time ? that is most definitely the best one. I have had this discussion many times with my friends!!

SMP: One of your favourite brands using social media?

SH: ASOS ? if you follow them on Twitter, you can get loads of great deals!
