'Kyodo News' Available for iPhone/iPod Touch Through 'Kijizo' News Distribution System Developed by EAST
TOKYO/PRNewswire/ -- "Kyodo News" is now available for
iPhone and iPod touch. Daily Japanese news is available not only in the
Japanese language but also in English for the international market. The
Japanese and English versions are both priced at US$2.99 for a 3-month
subscription in iTunes App Store of Apple Inc.
The news is distributed to iPhone/iPod touch through "Kijizo" which
is a solution for news reader (client) and news distribution (server)
developed by EAST Co., Ltd. based in Tokyo, Japan. The Kijizo servers
use the Amazon EC2 cloud computing environment. This is intended to
keep pace with rapid user growth and also for speedy news distribution
around the world.
The English news will be useful especially for international users
who are interested in politics, economy, science and other vital
